Our Occupational Health and Safety and First Aid Health unit offer a number of short programmes in Health and Safety, Fire Prevention, First Aid. Our NVQ Assessment centre for Occupational Health & Safety has now been operating successfully for several years providing the opportunity for work based NVQ’s in Health & Safety at Level 3, 4 and 5. Andover College is unique in providing these qualifications by e-learning NVQ4 enables candidates to meet the requirements for (Member of Institute of Occupational Safety Health) MIOSH membership.
A large percentage of our courses can be arranged at a venue to suit your individual business requirement or on site at our purpose built training suites. Although all the courses offered have a set format, most courses can be tailored to meet the need of any industry or your organisation.
This course is specifically designed to provide manual handling awareness training for individuals that need to meet manual handling legislation within the UK. The following topics and procedure will be covered throughout the course of this interactive and practical day Anatomy of the spine, base movement, handling techniques and manual handling risk assessment.
This one day interactive course has been designed to provide members of staff with the knowledge of how to tackle different types of fires. Throughout the day you will gain both theory and practical knowledge which will include the theory of fire, fire prevention, fire regulations and the different types of fire equipment. Also during this session all delegates will have the opportunity to use at least two types of fire extinguisher to put out controlled fires.
This course is for qualified first aiders who need to update their knowledge and skills. This requalification course is conducted over 12 hours on two consecutive days and includes cardiopulmonary resuscitation and any changes which have been brought in during the last 3 years those delegates are required to successfully complete. Throughout the duration of the course delegates will be provided with theory and practical assessments with independent assessors. Delegates must hold a current (in date) First Aid at Work (FAW) Certificate when they enrol, and a copy must be given to the college. On successful completion of this course It gives the successful delegate the skills, confidence and competence in meeting first aid emergencies.
